Chobe National Park

Chobe National Park in Botswana is world-renowned for its massive elephant herds and diverse ecosystems along the Chobe River. It is a cornerstone of the KAZA TFCA.

Wildlife

Chobe hosts the highest density of African elephants in the world. Especially during the dry season, thousands of animals gather along the riverfront.

  • Predators: Lions, Leopards, Hyenas.
  • River Life: Hippos, Crocodiles.
  • Huge Herds: Elephants and Buffaloes.

Main Gates

  • Sedudu Gate: Located right by Kasane (Riverfront).
  • Ngoma Gate: Border crossing to Namibia.
  • Mababe Gate: Access from the south (Moremi).
  • Ghoha Gate: Access to the Savuti region.

Lodges & Camping

  • Chobe Game Lodge: The only lodge inside the park.
  • Ihaha Camp: Popular bush camping on the riverfront.
  • Savuti Camp: Legendary for predator sightings.

Pro Tip

Be sure to take a sunset boat cruise on the Chobe River. It is the best way to see elephants swimming and hippos bathing from a unique, close-up perspective.
